These Terms apply to purchases made through phdfurniture.co.uk. Please read them before placing an order.
Consumer Orders
These Terms primarily apply when you purchase products as a consumer for personal use.
If you are purchasing wholly or mainly for business, commercial, rental, development or resale purposes, please contact info@phdfurniture.co.uk before ordering. Separate trade terms may apply.
Nothing in these Terms limits or excludes rights that cannot legally be limited or excluded under UK consumer law.
Using Our Website
You must be at least 18 years old and legally capable of entering into a contract to place an order.
You must provide accurate, complete and current information when ordering. You are responsible for checking your delivery address, postcode, email address and order details before completing the purchase.
You must not misuse the website, introduce malicious code, attempt unauthorised access, interfere with its operation or use it for unlawful or fraudulent purposes.
Products and Descriptions
We take reasonable care to display product descriptions, finishes, colours, dimensions, photographs and prices accurately.
Colours and finishes may appear differently depending on lighting, photography and screen settings. Furniture dimensions may be subject to reasonable manufacturing tolerances. Any material variation that affects the product’s use will be described where applicable.
Lifestyle images may include accessories, chairs or decorative items that are not included unless expressly stated in the product description.
Products supplied for self-assembly must be assembled in accordance with the supplied instructions. If a visible defect, damaged component or missing part is identified before or during assembly, stop and contact info@phdfurniture.co.uk before continuing.
Damage caused by incorrect assembly, misuse or continuing assembly after a visible issue has been identified is not treated as transit damage or a manufacturing defect. This does not affect statutory rights relating to faults that were not reasonably visible before or during assembly.
Placing an Order
Placing an order is an offer to purchase the selected products.
After placing an order, you may receive an automated acknowledgement. This acknowledgement confirms receipt of the order but does not necessarily mean that we have accepted it.
A binding contract is formed when we confirm acceptance or dispatch the goods.
We may decline or cancel an order before dispatch where reasonably necessary, including because:
- the product is unavailable;
- payment has not been authorised;
- the price or product information contains an obvious error;
- delivery is unavailable to the supplied address;
- order limits or promotion conditions have been exceeded;
- we reasonably suspect fraud, misuse or unauthorised activity.
If payment has already been taken for an order that we cannot accept, the amount paid will be refunded to the original payment method.
Prices and VAT
Prices are displayed in pounds sterling and include VAT where applicable unless expressly stated otherwise.
Delivery charges, where applicable, will be displayed before the order is completed or confirmed separately before purchase.
We take reasonable care to ensure prices are correct. If an obvious pricing error is identified before accepting an order, we may contact you for instructions or cancel the order and refund any payment received.
Payment
Available payment methods are displayed during checkout.
Payment must be authorised before goods are dispatched. Payment services may be provided by third-party payment providers and are subject to their own terms and security checks.
We do not guarantee that every payment method will always be available.
Discount Codes and Promotions
Discount codes and promotions are subject to their stated eligibility requirements, validity periods and exclusions.
Unless expressly stated otherwise:
- only one discount code may be used per order;
- codes cannot be exchanged for cash;
- codes cannot be applied retrospectively;
- codes may not apply to delivery charges or excluded products;
- promotions may be withdrawn or corrected where an obvious error, misuse or unauthorised distribution has occurred.
Nothing in this section affects an order already accepted using a valid promotion.
Delivery
Free standard delivery is available to UK mainland addresses, including mainland Scotland.
Our standard estimated delivery time for in-stock products is 3–7 working days.
Based on current delivery performance, approximately 90% of eligible parcels arrive on the next working day. This is an estimate and not a guaranteed next-day service.

Delivery dates are estimates unless we expressly agree a guaranteed date in writing.
Risk of loss or damage remains with us until the goods are delivered into the physical possession of you or a person identified by you to receive them. If you independently appoint a carrier that we did not offer, risk may pass when the goods are delivered to that carrier, as permitted by law.
Ownership of the goods passes after we have received full payment and the goods have been delivered.
Access and Assembly
You are responsible for checking that the packaged product can safely pass through entrances, hallways, stairways, lifts and other access points at the delivery address.
Standard delivery does not include assembly, installation, removal of existing furniture or disposal of packaging unless expressly stated on the product page or agreed separately in writing.
Cancelling an Order and Returns
Your cancellation, return and refund rights are explained in our Return and refund policy.
For eligible online purchases, consumers normally have a statutory right to cancel without giving a reason within 14 days beginning on the day after delivery, followed by a further 14 days to return the goods.
We also provide a voluntary 30-day return period for eligible products, subject to the conditions stated in the Return and refund policy.
For change-of-mind returns, the customer is responsible for the direct return cost. Bulky furniture collection charges typically start from £50 where we arrange collection, with the exact amount confirmed before booking.

Faulty, Damaged or Misdescribed Goods
Products must be as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for their intended purpose.
If goods are faulty, damaged when delivered, missing components or materially different from their description, contact info@phdfurniture.co.uk as soon as reasonably possible.
Depending on the circumstances and applicable UK consumer law, available remedies may include a replacement component, repair, replacement product, price reduction or refund.
Requests to inspect goods promptly or report visible courier damage quickly do not remove or shorten statutory rights.
Commercial and Manufacturer Warranties
Any manufacturer or commercial warranty offered with a product is additional to your statutory rights.
A warranty does not replace rights relating to goods that are faulty, misdescribed or not of satisfactory quality.
Events Outside Our Control
We are not responsible for delay or failure caused by events outside our reasonable control.
These events may include severe weather, transport disruption, courier network failure, industrial action, supplier interruption, fire, flood, public emergency, governmental action or failure of telecommunications systems.
If such an event materially affects your order, we will take reasonable steps to minimise the effect and contact you where appropriate. Your statutory cancellation and refund rights remain unaffected.
Our Responsibility to Consumers
We are responsible for losses that are a foreseeable result of our breach of these Terms or failure to use reasonable care and skill.
We do not exclude or limit liability where doing so would be unlawful, including liability for:
- death or personal injury caused by negligence;
- fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation;
- defective products where liability cannot legally be excluded;
- breach of statutory consumer rights.
We are not responsible for losses that were not reasonably foreseeable when the contract was formed.
Products sold under these consumer Terms are intended for domestic and private use. We are not responsible under these consumer Terms for business losses, loss of profit, loss of revenue, loss of business or loss of business opportunity.
Personal Information
We process personal information in accordance with our Privacy policy.
Third-party services, including payment providers and delivery carriers, may process information under their own privacy notices where necessary to provide their services.
Intellectual Property
The website and its content, including text, photographs, graphics, logos and design elements, are owned by or licensed to PHD FURNITURE LTD unless stated otherwise.
Content may not be reproduced, distributed, commercially exploited or used to create misleading listings without prior written permission, except where permitted by law.
Third-Party Links and Services
The website may contain links to third-party websites or use services supplied by third parties.
We are not responsible for third-party websites that we do not control. Customers should review the relevant third party’s terms and privacy information before using those services.
Shopify provides the ecommerce platform used to operate this store but is not the seller of products purchased from PHD FURNITURE LTD.
Reviews and Customer Content
If you submit a review, photograph or other content, you confirm that it is accurate, relates to your genuine experience and does not infringe another person’s rights.
We may moderate or remove unlawful, abusive, misleading, irrelevant or infringing content. We will not knowingly present incentivised or imported reviews in a misleading way.
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms to reflect changes in law, business operations or store functionality.
The Terms applying to an order are those in force when the order is placed, unless a change is required by law or expressly agreed with you.
Transfer of Rights
We may transfer our rights and obligations under a contract where this does not reduce your legal protections.
You may transfer your rights where permitted by law or with our written agreement.
Severability
If any provision of these Terms is found to be unlawful or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue to apply.
No Waiver
If we do not immediately enforce a right under these Terms, this does not mean that the right has been waived.
Third-Party Rights
Except where expressly stated, no person other than you and PHD FURNITURE LTD has any right to enforce these Terms under the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999.
Governing Law and Courts
These Terms and consumer contracts are governed by the laws of England and Wales.
Consumers living in Scotland or Northern Ireland may also bring proceedings in their local courts where applicable. Nothing in this section removes mandatory protections provided by the law of the country within the United Kingdom where the consumer lives.
